The Urine Pregnancy test is a diagnostic test that estimates the level of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) hormone in a lady to confirm pregnancy. HCG is produced by the cells of a fertilized egg that attaches to the uterus wall. The production of this hormone begins 6 days after fertilization. HCG significantly rises in the first few weeks of pregnancy and is at its peak at 10 weeks.
The test sample can be taken at home or at a doctor's clinic. It is recommended to collected the first morning urine sample which is when the hCG levels are high and give accurate positive results.
