Vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble vitamin which is needed for good health of bones, teeth and muscles. It also controls movements of all muscles in the body.
Who should undergo a Vitamin D3 test:
- Brittle teeth, nails or bones
- Recurrent bone pain
- Very low exposure to sunlight
- Recurrent incidents of fractured bones
- Recurrent muscle cramps
- Nausea and vomiting without any detectable pathology
The venous blood sample, required for this test, is drawn from a vein in the patient's arm. The sample is then sent for testing using highly calibrated instruments are used to assess the levels of Vitamin D3.
